esPRESSO GENOA - Friday, 21 September 2018

UCINA & European Boating Industry
will tackle the issue of market surveillance
at the 58th Genoa International Boat Show

Salone Nautico, UCINA Confindustria Nautica and European Boating Industry are proud to announce that the first edition of their “EsPRESSO GENOA” will be held at the 58th Genoa Boat Show on Friday, 21 September 2018 from 9:00 to 10:30.

This brand new event at Salone Nautico is developed to answer the need for boatbuilders to combine their commercial activities at the renowned boat show of Genoa with their need to discuss and obtain intelligence about EU developments which impact the boating industry. The format of the event allows participants to get the latest updates and to network just before their full day at the boat show.

For this first edition, EsPRESSO GENOA will address market surveillance.
Recreational craft sold in the EU must comply with harmonised technical safety and environmental requirements, and meet the administrative obligations defined by the Recreational Craft Directive. The Commission has harmonised the different EU national legislations for recreational craft and market surveillance authorities in each country are responsible for controlling the products and for taking the appropriate measures. The objective is to protect people from dangerous products but also to ensure a level playing field for businesses. In this context, it is essential that boatbuilders fully understand their responsibility and that the interpretation of the Directive is well understood by both the industry and the competent authorities. Exchanges between competent authorities are essential to ensure a level playing field at regional and European levels.

Barbara Bonvissuto, Head of Unit on Advanced Engineering and Manufacturing Industries (the unit in charge of the Recreational Craft Directive) at DG GROW, European Commission will share her expert knowledge.

The details of the programme with the list of speakers will be announced soon. In the meantime, please keep visiting salonenautico.com and europeanboatingindustry.eu websites to stay tuned.

The event is free of charge but registration is mandatory. The event will be in English and Italian with simultaneous translation.
